Bony Acai, Fitness, and the Fat Man
Last night I took stock a little bit on my health. I’m 41 years old, and definitely over weight. The over weight part isn’t really anything new, but for some reason it “feels” different. I just feel further gone than I have before. It’s time to do something.
As I thought back, the last time I was really feeling good was a year or more ago. I was working out regularly, had dumped my energy drinks, and had followed the example of a friend, who was trying Bony (and I had noticed a difference in him.)
Problem is, I’m impatient. Sure, losing a pound a month for three years would put me at a much better weight. But I just don’t know if I can stand such tiny gains. I need to see a reasonably change at least up front if I’m gonna keep motivated. (yes, I know that the slow process of gain is how I got here, and I should be equally happy to lose slowly… but hell, I’m the 7-11, wikipedia generation!)
So, here’s my plan:
I weighed in this morning at 265.
For the next 30 days breakfast every day is this bad boy, and I will be holding off on the two energy drinks I drink every day:
Now, I know what you’re thinking: ”Holy crap! Is that Cthulhu in the background in that picture??”
Yes. Yes it is. Hoping to unleash the best here folks.
I don’t know how well this is going to work. But I will be actively blogging about it over the next month. Hopefully it will jump start a fitness effort for me by getting em motivated with some quick weight loss.
Minimally, replacing my energy drinks with the Acai will cut some significant calories out of the mis, as well as keep me from falling off of the energy cliff that can happen with them. At least that was my experience last time I was consuming the stuff.
So, wish me well, and watch here for results. Crossing my fat, sausage-like fingers

Good luck Steve! Both my brother and father are overweight and I’ve learned how hard it can be. I think you’ve started at the right place: calorie intake. Please do let us know how you are doing and what I can do to assist you in your goal.
Much appreciated Bart. I have learned over the years (and several failed attempts) that it can’t be through any whacky food changed that you can’t sustain and is inconsistent with what your family tends to eat. I’m hoping with minimal, sustainable cuts (soda) and more exercise I can make it.
