  • MMA Fight Playlist for Pandora

It can take forever, and be frustrating as hell trying to really dial in a Pandora station and get it right.

A station I have been fine tuning for quite some time is my “Fight” station.  It’s the one I like to listen to on my way to training, to get amped up.

Thought I’d share it here.  Hope you enjoy :)

Jiu Jitsu borders steak and tits on my list of things that I think are awesome.  I’ve come to the reality that black belts won’t give away secrets that they’ve spent years discovering from thousands of hours of rolling.  They want you to pay your dues as well and rightfully so. Professor Hermosillo’s ear is … Read more

  • The month of the arm bar

Okay, so I’m just going to admit it: I suck at arm bars.  I have developed my skills at all sorts of other submissions, while avoiding going for the arm bar because I knew I would miss it.

But watching Ronda Rousey has inspired me.  It’s time to stop running from the arm bar.  This move is just too damned lethal not to have.

So, this month for me will be the month of the arm bar.  My goal is to only submit with arm bars this month.  To pass up everything else, and go for that arm bar.  Wish me luck.  No doubt my arm bars will improve.  But I think I may also get a lot of beat downs while I work on it :)

“In the midst of all the political back and forth I sit back and find myself extremely grateful for the democracy that we live in. We are so fortunate to live in a country that supports freedom to choose and allows us rights that are so desperately desired throughout the world. We have the freedom to work at a vocation of our choice or to start our own business. We have clean water, electricity and food at reasonable prices that allow us time and ability to enjoy life. We enjoy safety and freedom from violence and wars in our own land. We help other nations by sending relief in the form of clothing, food, medicine and military support. We have an amazing spirit of cooperation and brotherhood which other countries do not enjoy. We are able to have public forums and discussions to respectfully express our political views without the fear of being jailed, killed or corporally punished. We enjoy so many freedoms and privileges that so many in this world do not. It saddens and sickens me when we have people among us that are too ‘disgusted with the system to vote’. Even this freedom to not vote is preserved. In another four years we will have the opportunity to elect another president. Regardless of the outcome we are not forever stuck under the thumb of dictators, or tyrants. We have the opportunity to have an ever evolving and developing society that addresses the voice of its people. We are truly blessed! I am so proud of the United States of America even with all of its imperfections it is still the land of the free and the home of the brave. I am so proud to have been able to represent our country as an athlete. I love being American and I love the United States! God bless America!”
